Happy Birthday Landon!!!

Yesterday was Landon's 3rd Birthday. He awoke to all of these balloons in his room and then he and Abbie threw them down the stairs and had a ball playing "balloon tennis." He wanted pancakes for breakfast, so Mike and I got to work in the kitchen. Since it was Sunday, we went to church, but I had let Landon pick out some cookies at the store to take to Nursery for snack. He loves Nursery and was more than fine to go, even on his birthday. After church, Mike and I were really mean parents and made him take a nap, which of course didn't work. Since Mike was up watching Football, anyway, he let him stay up with him. After dinner, he got to open his presents. It was so funny because we were asking him "Landon do you want to open your presents now?" and he kept saying "no, presents a kissmas (Christmas)." Evidently he did not know that you also get presents on your birthday. I guess the reason he has been asking me everyday for the past 5 weeks if it was his "party day" was becuse he wanted chocolate cake.

Anyway, here are some of the things he got (posted at the request of Grandmas and Grandpas and Aunts and Uncles.)
New Cars underwear from Aunt Jenny!! Thank You Aunt Denny!

The Cars Soundtrack from Nana and Grandpa Kent! Thank You Nana!!!

BYU gear from Grandma and Papa. (He wouldn't stop opening presents to put on the jersey, but I'll get a picture of it and email it to you). Thank You Grandma and Papa!!

And lots if trains. (from Mom and Dad).

Happy Birthday Buddy!! We love you sooooooooooooooooooo much!!!

Kindergarten

I didn't even cry! Mike had the day off, so he was able to come with us to drop Abbie off at school for the first day. The kids were gathering outside the building and they had tons bubbles going and music playing. Then, when it was time to go line up inside for their classes, Abs wanted us to come, but once she was in line she was ok for us to go. A lot of the parents walked down to the classroom with the kids, but since Abbie was doing well, we just decided to leave. I was so proud of her because I know she was nervous and scared, but she was really brave and of course, ended up having a great time! She has an awesome teacher and I know she'll have a great year!

Minnesota State Fair

This is the "ride" that Abbie chose. She just jumped straight up and down (that was a great $5 spent) but still had a great time. I kept trying to get her to attempt a flip, but she wouldn't. She needs some lessons from Uncle Scott!
Mike and his turkey leg! It was soooooooooo good. I bet it looked really great to everyone else walking around to see a pregnant woman biting off of a huge leg of turkey! It was worth it!!
This fair had a great display of animals. The kids could pretty much touch/pet whatever they wanted. Landon and Abs both loved the bunnies. Landon kept saying "so cute" in a really high-pitched girly voice. The baby pigs were my favorite part of the animal display. they were onlt 8 days old and the size of a human newborn. That is Abbie's finger touching the pig. She didn't want to get too close with some of the animals.
This was hands down My and Mike's favorite thing that we ate. Deep fried potatoes and you dip them in ranch and cheddar. I'm salivating as I'm writing. Yum!
